IAD Internship Program

The Institute for African Development (IAD) internship programs supports Cornell’s mission “to promote a culture of broad inquiry throughout and beyond the Cornell community.” Internship placements by IAD program provide students with academically related and practical fieldwork experience. Students with an interest in African development who would like to engage in personalized learning not available in the traditional classroom setting are welcome to apply. IAD views the 8-week internship program as an integral part of a student’s education, offering experiential learning that provide students with opportunities to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a real world context.

Eligibility & Requirements: Internships are open to juniors and upcoming seniors only. Application must be received by the close of business day on February 25, 2019 at 190 Uris Hall / jsb25@cornell.edu / (607) 255-6849. Scanned applications / pdfs are acceptable. Advisors letter of support must be received on that deadline as well. Applicants must have completed at least two years of college coursework with a 3.0 GPA or higher; be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. They must also attend at least two IAD seminars to be eligible – CRP 4770 which meets on Thursdays at 2:30pm in G-08 Uris Hall.
